Bus Update



Bus 2 and Bus 3 have been arriving late to school. In order to resolve this issue, the bus will pick up earlier.

Bus 2 will begin pick up at 6:40 AM.
Bus 3 will begin pick up at 6:55 AM.

These times will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Please be sure to plan accordingly.

Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to follow their student's schedules and meet their teachers. This is a chance to become familiar with the expectations and guidelines for each course.  We hope to see you then!


Boy's soccer Tryouts will take place Monday, August 29th at the JFK from 2:30-4:30.

Final exams will be administered on the following days:

   Monday, June 13     Periods 1 and 2 exams

Tuesday, June 14    Period 3 and 4 exams 

Wednesday, June 15  Period 5 and 6 exams

Students will dismissed at 11:15 on these exam days.

The last day of school will be June 16th. Dismissal will be at 11:15.

Coaches Vs. Cancer Update

This winter, the Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams and Student Council also teamed together to raise money for “Coaches Against Cancer,” a division of the American Cancer Society.  Through their efforts, a donation of $2,200.00 was raised and donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Tim Chisholm, the husband of our valued HJSHS community member, Pat Chisholm. 

On behalf of all of us at the Junior-Senior High School, we would like to thank the entire JSHS community for their support of our efforts.

Giving Back

This October the members of the Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team, JV and Varsity Volleyball Teams and Student Council teamed together and raised nearly $2,000.00 to support local families who have been directly affected by breast cancer.  Three families were nominated and were the recipients of “Family Day” gift baskets.

Throughout the month of October, the Boys’ Soccer Team, Volleyball Teams, Student Council and various other organizations at the JSHS are collaborating to raise awareness about breast cancer and raise funds to support families in our community who are affected by this disease. We will be raising funds through the sale of shirts, donations, raffles and other sponsorships. All funds raised will be used to create “family day” gift baskets to the families of Holbrook Public Schools students who have an immediate family member who has been directly affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Boy's Soccer Shirts

 This year the boy’s varsity soccer team is having alternate black jerseys made in coordination with their Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising efforts. They are selling replicas of the jerseys with all proceeds going to charity. The shirts are black long sleeve and are similar to a Nike Dri-Fit material. The cost is $22.

College Information Night




Attention Class of 2016 Parents

Please join us on Tuesday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m.in room 112 at the Junior Senior High School for an informative presentation on preparing your student and yourselves for the college application process.  Topics will include narrowing college choices, the application process, financial aid and FAFSA assistance.  All 2016 parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.

Mass Kidz Healthy Smiles is returning to Holbrook Junior Senior High School on Thursday, October 1, 2015 to provide dental services to any interested students.  The team of dental hygienists provides services such as dental screenings, cleanings, fluoride, preventative education, and referrals as needed.  For more information about this program, visit www.masskidzhealthysmiles.com or feel free to contact Mrs. Froio at 781-815-1620.   If you would like your child to participate, please complete the attached form.

Holbrook Athletic Boosters will hold their first meeting on Thursday, September 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the teacher's room.  This is on the lower level of the high school across from the cafeteria. New members are welcome!

Release of Student Names and Addresses to Vocational School

Attention 7th and 8th Grade Parents,

Under a recently estalished state regulation, schools are required to release the names and addresses of all seventh and eighth grade students to the regional vocational school district in which the town is a member.  In the event a parent/guardian (or student 14 years or older) objects to the release of this information, the parent/student may state that objection in writing to the principal. Absent the principal's receipt of a written objection by November 9, 2015, the Holbrook Public Schools will release the name and address of each student in grades 7 and 8 to the Blue HIlls Regional Technical School DIstrict without further notice or consent.

Featured Speaker: DR. RUTH POTEE is a nationally recognized expert in the area of adolescent brain development and its impact on teenage risk taking, including alcohol and substance abuse. She blends scientific research with a hands-on understanding of the challenges of raising healthy teens. She practices family medicine in Greenfield, MA and is Chair of the Healthcare Solutions Opioid Task Force of Franklin County.


Screenagers is a movie about the impact of the digital age on children.  It examines how families can minimize harmful effects and find balance in an online world.
Please join us on November 29th at 7 p.m. at the High School Auditorium for this worthwhile event. 

You are also invited to stop by our bake sale before or after the movie, hosted by the Junior Honor Society.

An Orientation Evening for students and their parents or guardians will take place on Thursday, August 25th. Our orientation program will begin in the Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. We hope you will be able to join us to meet some of our staff and learn a bit more about our school. We look forward to seeing you and enjoy the rest of your summer.

HJSHS Goes Purple



Each one of us has been affected by cancer in some way. Recently, cancer has touched our community directly, and in raising money for pancreatic cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we join together to show that “no one fights alone."

Clothing Drive

     Please support the students of the Junior National Honor Society as they conduct a clothing drive to benefit the Salvation Army.

Sign the final construction beam! The beam will be in the high school parking lot from Friday afternoon on April15th to Monday, April 18th. Bring a Sharpie and leave your name on this great piece of Holbrook history.   

Sports Physicals

Dr. Trembly will be returning to perform sports physicals on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.  Parent permission forms must be signed and returned to Mrs. Frolio in order for a student to have a physical done at school. Just a reminder, physicals for sports expire thirteen months from the date of the lst physical on file with the school nurse.  Spring sports tryouts begin on March 21st. 

National Honor Society Gift Card Fundraiser

The National Honor Society will be conducting a gift card fundraiser for the holiday season.  You pay the face value of the gift card, but a percentage of its face value goes to the National Honor Society.

Dr. Tremblay, our school physician, will be coming to the HJSHS on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 9:00 to perform a physical for any student that needs a physical for sports or school requirements.

Pennies for Patients

On Thursday, March 9th, all students were given a Pennies for Patients donation box. 

 From now until March 27, our school-wide goal is to raise over $650.00 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by collecting quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies in these donation boxes. All coin donations should be brought to Miss Grant in
Room 103 for tallying.

In addition, online donations can be submitted by going to the following link.  http://www.studentseries.org/find-your-school?chapter=Massachusetts .
Once there, choose "Holbrook Junior Senior High School" and donate away!"

 Trial dates for Holbrook are listed below.  All trials are held at Stoughton District Court and are open to the public for viewing. Trials will begin at 1:30 and run approximately two hours.

Tickets for homecoming will be sold Tuesday & Thursday at lunch and Wednesday & Friday before & after school in the library.
Tickets are $15.   


 The Holbrook Junior/Senior High School Chess Club will hold its first meeting on   Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 2:15 to 3:30 PM. All levels of players are welcome to join the Chess Club from students who do not know how to play to students who are very advanced.

Chess Club will meet in the Computer Lab, room 116 on Tuesday afternoons when school is in session.  Chess Club will not be held on early release days.

Harvard Model Congress


There is a mandatory meeting for all students who plan to participate in the Harvard Model Congress on Monday, November 9th in Room 108 right after school.  Please see Mr. Flannagan if you have questions.  The Harvard Model Congress will be held in Boston from February 18-21, 2016.  

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with high school students from around the country and learn about the lawmaking process.  For further information, log on to http://harvardmodelcongress.org/

Boston Bruins Pajama Drive

Holbrook Jr Sr High School has teamed up with the Boston Bruins, the Department of Children and Families and Cradles to Crayons for their annual pajama drive. The PJ Drive’s goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of new pajamas for children and teens in need.

Bulldog Academy



With MCAS and PARCC approaching, after-school support programs have been put in place for students in grades 7,8 and 9  to receive additional assistance in Math, English Language Arts and Science.

Mass Kidz Healthy Smiles is returning to Holbrook Jr. Sr. High School on Friday, October 7, 2016.  This team of dental professionals provides preventative services to any interested students. Dental hygienists will provide a dental screening, cleaning, fluoride, dental sealants, and referrals as necessary. No x-rays will be done and this service will be at no cost to you. Lunch Price Increase for the 2016-2017 School Year

The Holbrook Public Schools School Committee voted on Thursday, July 21, 2016 to increase the lunch prices for the 2016-2017 School Year.  The prices increases are as follows:

John F. Kennedy Elementary School and South Elementary School will increase to $2.75
Holbrook Junior-Senior High School will increase to $2.85
Adult lunches will increase to $4.00

Summer reading


This summer, the students of Holbrook Junior-Senior High School are being given the freedom to choose their summer reading book! In addition to reading one book of their choice , students are required to complete a summer reading assignment that is worth 5% of their first quarter grade.
