Title I Schoolwide Program

Title 1 Schoolwide Program

Dear Holbrook Middle-High School Families:

I am writing to inform you that the Holbrook Middle-High School is a Schoolwide Title I School for the 2021-2022 school year.  Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), is the largest federal assistance program providing funds to districts and schools with a high percentage of children from low-income families.  Title I is a major component of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).  The purpose of Every Student Succeeds Act is to provide a higher quality education for every child.

The Title I Schoolwide Program promotes improved instruction for all students. A Title I School-Parent/Guardian-Student Compact was sent home in the beginning of the school year, outlining the responsibilities of parents, students and the school.  The goal is to improve the academic performance of low achieving students and all other students in the school by improving the entire educational program.

Schoolwide programs must address effective research-based instructional supports, methods and strategies that strengthen the core academic program of the school.  Schoolwide programs must also provide evidence of parent involvement activities and family literacy.

Title I School, Paren/Guardian Compact (sent home)

Through Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), any district or school who participates in activities, services, or programs funded through federal grants is required to receive a compact.  Schools are successful when students, parents/guardians and educators work cooperatively to ensure student growth and development.  Parents/Guardians, the entire school staff and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and to help students achieve the State’s high standards.  Therefore, we ask that all parties commit to their part of this compact by signing below.

This compact is in effect during the school year 2021-2022.
