Each year, the American Library Association recognizes the last week in September as Banned Books Week. This is a time to reflect on how authors and their works have called attention to social injustice, examined the plight of individuals or introduced a revolutionary way of thinking and living.
More importantly, it is a time to be grateful for our right to read books that interest us, intrigue us and open us up to new perspectives.
See here for the most challenged books from 2017 and years prior. How many have you read?
Use the online catalog in our library to search for a challenged or banned book.
Dare to read one!
